Public Hearing – Designation of Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone

tax ncrement reinvestment zone hearing 4 7 14The City Council of Haltom City will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 in the City Hall Council Chambers at 5024 Broadway Avenue to consider the designation of a Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 1 under Chapter 311 of the Texas Tax Code.

The purpose of the Public Hearing will be to discuss and receive input concerning the creation of a Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 1 to include the property depicted on the map below and its benefits to the City and to property in the proposed zone. Little Fossil Park Renovation

Grand Opening!

haltom city little fossil parkThe grand opening for the renovated Little Fossil Park will be this Saturday, March 29th at noon. Softball games will start after the ceremony at 1:00 p.m. The renovated park, located at 4412 Hadley St., now has:

  • three tournament quality softball fields
  • new lighting system
  • new playground
  • new concession building
  • new restroom building
  • 85 additional parking spaces

The improvements to the park were made possible by funds from the 2010 bond election.

May 10 General Election

Haltom City will be holding a General Election to elect Council Places 3, 4, 5 and 6. Election day is Saturday, May 10th.

The candidates are as follows:

  • Council Place 3 – David Averitt (Unopposed)
  • Council Place 4 – Trae Fowler, Willis O’Dell, and Brent Weast (ordered as they will appear on ballot)
  • Council Place 5 – Bob Watkins (Unopposed)
  • Council Place 6 – Stephanie Davenport (Unopposed)

Polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
