Children enrolled in day camps at Fort Worth community centers will participate in the Mayor’s Summer Challenge again this year.
Mayor Betsy Price is encouraging kids to practice healthy habits by tracking their daily physical activity minutes, servings of fruits and vegetables, servings of water and minutes spent reading.
Price will drop by community centers throughout the challenge, which runs through July 24. Winning centers will receive prize funds to be used for new physical education equipment to promote an active community.
The challenge is organized by FitWorth, whose mission is to empower children and families to make healthier choices through educating, connecting and moving together.
