The I-35W highway corridor through Fort Worth and Tarrant County is a major north-south route for commuters and regional, interstate and international trade. The reconstruction project will feature fully-rebuilt main highway lanes and frontage roads, along with two new TEXpress lanes in each direction.
Once complete, the new corridor will connect with the NTE TEXpress lanes along I-820 and Airport Freeway through the Mid-Cities, which opened in 2014. The I-35W project features modernized infrastructure and improves capacity, safety and mobility throughout the corridor.
