Register Now for Men’s Spring Flag Football

The NFL season may be over, but flag football is just heating up! It’s time to start building your team for the City of Southlake’s spring adult flag football league.

Adults benefit just as much as kids do from playing sports. Not only does playing a sport provide a challenging full-body workout, but it’s also been proven to boost mood, decrease stress and strengthen teamwork and problem-solving skills. Most importantly, playing with friends and family is a great way to fit some fun into your weekly routine!

The City of Southlake’s spring flag football league is open to players ages 18 and up. Rosters can include up to 20 players. The cost is $330 per team, and teams must provide their own jerseys.

Behind the Book: Southlake Carroll Dragon Football at the Southlake Public Library

The Southlake Carroll Dragon football program has had a great history of success and is a symbol of pride for the Southlake community. Southlake Historical Society President Connie Cooley’s new book Images of Sports: Southlake Carroll Dragon Football details that history with an up-close, year-by-year look at Dragon football, the people who made it all happen, the players, the coaches and the die-hard fans.

On Wednesday, December 9, the Southlake Public Library will host a Behind the Book event for readers to get a behind-the-scenes look at the book with the author. Starting with an author reception, a special presentation, and ending with a book signing, the event will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.

The Behind the Book event and reception is sponsored by the Southlake Library. The book is on sale through the Southlake Historical Society and the Southlake Public Library with all proceeds benefiting the Southlake Historical Society. For more information on this event and other Library events, contact City Librarian Cynthia Pfledderer at 817.748.8246 or cpfledderer@ci.southlake.tx.us.
